Our School   Date Of Entry - Monday, July 31, 2006

Ecclesall Junior School is a Controlled Church of England Junior School serving the community of Ecclesall and beyond.  You will find us on Ringinglow Road, situated on the edge of the Peak District in South West Sheffield, but just two miles from the city centre.Click here for a map

We have just over 360 children in our family. We believe our school is especially friendly and caring for all its members. It is our aim to make it a place where everyone is excited by learning.

Although we are a Church School our admissions policy is set and managed by the Local Education Authority. Children come to us from our local Ecclesall Infant School and from Clifford Infant School on Psaltar Lane. Both schools have equal feeder status.

Most of our pupils move on at age 11 to Silverdale or High Storrs.

In partnership with the LEA we strive to be a truly inclusive school and welcome children of different abilities and backgrounds.

You can read more about our aims and our plans for development in the School Pages section of this site. Just click on the button to the left.
Latest OFSTED Report   Date Of Entry - Monday, July 31, 2006

Our most recent OFSTED Inspection was in May 2005.

It was a very positive experience. Here are some comments from the Report.

"Standards in English, mathematics and science are well above average and pupils achieve well."

"Pupils' attitudes to learning are very positive: they are eager to learn, enthusiastic, interested and take a pride in their work."

"Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is very good with spiritual development being outstanding, and this is a real strength of the school and its ethos."

"The school provides an outstanding programme of extra-curricular activities."

The biggest criticism was reserved for the accommodation and in particular the Spooner Block classrooms. During the summer of 2006 this building received extensive refurbishment.
